What Sember doesn't do

  • No account. Open the app and press play.
  • No subscription. Free isn't a trial here.
  • No ads. Not now, not later.
  • No analytics. We can't see you use it.
  • No network calls. Turn on airplane mode — nothing changes.

This isn't a feature tier. It's the architecture. The app has no server to talk to.

Ten days, one voice

Each day is one guided sit — around ten minutes, narrated by the same voice from Day One to Day Ten. The course teaches the one skill every meditation practice is built on: noticing you've drifted, and returning. More coaching on day one. More silence by day ten.

After the course: shorter sits for the middle of a day, an unguided timer with interval bells, and a breathing pacer.

Built the way you'd want it built

Guidance you can turn down

Choose how much the narrator says — from a steady hand through every step to almost nothing at all. The dial is yours, per sit.

Built for the screen-off world

Press begin, lock your phone, close your eyes. Sessions are built to keep playing with the screen dark, because that's how people actually sit.

Yours, offline, for good

Every word of narration ships inside the app. It works on a plane, in a basement, a decade from now. Your sessions and journal stay on your device — export them as one file anytime.

Why free?

I built Sember because I wanted to learn to meditate without being enrolled in something — no streaks guilting me back, no paywall halfway through the course, no company watching my practice. It costs me little to share, so the whole app is free. If that changes someday, new things may cost money — but what's free today stays free, and the app will never show ads or track you either way.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes — the full ten-day course and everything else currently in the app. No trial, no premium tier, no card on file.

What do you collect about me?

Nothing. The app makes zero network requests. There's no account, no analytics, and no server. You can verify this yourself: airplane mode, then use the app.

I've never meditated. Is this for me?

It's built for exactly you. Day One assumes nothing and the narrator carries you through it.

Android only?

Sember is coming to Google Play, and the web version runs in any browser today — it works offline after the first visit.

Where's my data?

On your device. Journal, sessions, mood check-ins — all local. Deleting the app deletes everything. There's nothing to delete anywhere else, because nothing leaves your phone.

Is this therapy?

No. Sember teaches meditation — a skill, not a treatment. It isn't a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you're struggling, a professional is the right door, and this app can wait.

The oldest skill there is. Ten days to learn it.
